Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. (T. Roosevelt)

introduction

Climate change is pervasive.  Its effects in the world are shown daily on all media.  The questions keep coming : are we doing enough?  Are we doing it fast enough? Do we need to do anything at all?  Underlying these questions are 2 other questions that are answered differently by many : what time is it on the clock of the world?  And do we actually know what time it is?

Change of our European and Belgian model of society due to climate change, however, can no longer be stopped.  The question is no longer whether Europe or Flanders will be impacted.  The question is only when that will happen to the extent that our way of life, our lifestyle, will change drastically.   Many scientific findings do confirm this.

1. your challenge

    - You want to understand with your municipality or city, together with others, what is happening, how you feel about the current evolution of the climate.

    - You want to explore what is needed and possible in terms of initiatives that benefit your community and strengthen local solidarity.

    - You want to learn from civic initiatives from other cities and towns.

    - You want to take leadership with others and bring about positive changes locally that make life more sustainable.

    - You want to use the power and influence you have and mobilize people around sustainable initiatives in your neighbourhood, municipality, city.

2. offer

Damien supports local initiatives by governments and citizens that strengthen commonality and resilience in the face of climate change around issues such as food, energy, water, mobility ...

Creation said:

“I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it.

It is the realization that they create their own reality.”

The eagle said,

“Give it to me. I will take it to the moon.”

The Creator said, “No. One day they will go there and find it.”

The salmon said,

“I will bury it on the bottom of the ocean.”

The Creator said, “No. They will go there, too.”

The buffalo said, “I will bury it on the Great Plains.”

The Creator said, “They will cut into the skin of the earth and find it even there.”
